Stiff neck and shoulder is very common, especially with people over 30 years of age. Some have soreness. Others more have more severe situation such as restricted rotation of the neck.
It is impotant to relaize that any problem at the neck and shoulder can impact the circulation to the head and resulted in numerous problem for the time being or some time in the future.

I think another option to treat this problem is daily exercise.
However, this also is one of my pains I should be careful with it.

True, daily exercise. Most important is trying to relax the muscles. You can find the sufferers almost invariably have very tight neck/shoulder muscles. It can be achieved by warming(by heat pad), massage(use massager)and gentle neck exercise. It will take some time but definitely worth the time. Treatment is needed if the condition is serious like having spasmed muscle.
